When breeding and sport come together. Dartanion, a participant in the European Championships with an outstanding sport pedigree. The modern Dartanion is the son of Dibadu L BWP (Darco x Chin Chin), the vice-champion of the 30-day test in Münster-Handorf (jumping score of 9.0), and a 1.50 m level jumper (ridden by Marie Ligges).

The breeding value of Dibadu L is not only due to the excellent paternal line, with the standout Darco (1.60 m, Ludo Philippaerts), one of the most recognizable names in contemporary show jumping horse breeding, but also its maternal line. Many great jumpers trace their roots back to it, including Dibadu L's half-brother Herr Sandro P&B (1.40 m, Age Dagfinn Eide Askeland), Vino Tinto (1.40 m, Agathe Vacher), Day Dream P&B (1.45 m, Koen Vereecke), Le President P&B (1.45m, Richard Cheska), Unique van de Donkhoeve (1.45 m, Marie Pellegrin), Abou Kamash (1.60 m, Abdul Fatah  ilitan), Pixel-K van ‘t Kattenheye (1.50 m, Emilia Loeser), Ushuaia van de Donkhoeve (1.45 m, Alessio Longhi), Aristoteles van de Donkhoeve (1.60 m, Shari Navra), and Chauvinist (1.50 m, Daniel Neilson).

Dibadu L, primarily used in Westphalia, has produced, among others, horses like Dede 5 (1.45 m, Mathias Noerheden Johansen), Didarco (1.40 m, Anika Koch), Droste JB (1.40 m, Giovanni Votino), Dora The Explorer (1.45 m, Abbie Sweetnam), and Downey 3 (1.45 m, Maya Gretenkord). The dam of Dartanion, the Westphalian mare Chianti de Lys (Champion du Lys), reached a level of 1.40 m (ridden by Franz Josef Krueer). She is a breeding gem, with three offspring having successful sporting careers: Dartanion, L.A. Champ KB (1.30 m, Marie Gerdau), and Dubida (1.30 m, Hannes Engel). Chianti de Lys is a full sister to the excellent Chiantiʼs Champion (1.70 m, Frank Schuttert), whose pedigree potential translated into significant achievements, including 1st place in CSIO5*-
-NC Final Barcelona 2019 (1.60m), 1st place in CSI5* GCT/GCL Valkenswaard 2018 (1.60 m), 2nd place in CSIO5*-NC EUD1 Sopot 2019 (1.60 m), 10th place in CSIO5* Aachen 2018 (1.70 m), and 5th place in WEG-S Tryon 2018 (1.65 m). The third dam produced the excellent Chablis du Lys (1.55 m, Denise Sulz), the dam of the recognized horses Cornet du Lys (1.60 m, Jose Maria Larocca Jr.) in Westphalia, OS, SF, and Zangersheide. The maternal grandfather, the outstanding Champion du Lys SF (Laeken x Largny xx), level 1.60 m (ridden by Ludger Beerbaum), was a team gold medalist at the European Championships and the winner of the Hamburger Derby. He competed in numerous Grand Prix competitions and Nations Cups, with a long list of successful offspring, including
Chiantiʼs Champion, Caballero 80 (1.60 m, Emilie Martinsen), Chuck Z (1.60 m, Morten Alexander Djupvik), Caught In Auction (1.60 m, Helena Lundbaeck), Chablis du Lys, Chilli van Dijk (1.60 m, Stefan Eder), Comtesse du Lys (1.60 m, Marilyn Little), and Crossing Jordan (1.60 m, Nicolas Pizarro Suarez Martinez). Dartanion is a 1.60 m level horse (ridden by Adir Dias De Abreu, Manuel Feldmann, currently ridden by Bartosz Adamus), achieving success such as 2nd place in the Nations Cup CSIO3* Gorla Minore 2023 (1.45 m), 3rd place in the Grand Prix CSIO3* Gorla Minore 2023 (1.50 m), and 7th place in the Grand Prix CSIO5* Falsterbo 2023 (1.60 m). Additionally, he has successfully competed at the national level in Germany.
